(7) The notion of biometric data used in this Regulation is in line with and should be interpreted consistently with the notion of biometric data as defined in Article 4(14) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 35 ) , Article 3(18) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 36 ) and Article 3(13) of Directive (EU) 2016/680 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 37 ) .

## Amendment of the European Parliament

(7) The notion of biometric data used in this Regulation is in line with and should be interpreted consistently with the notion of biometric data as defined in Article 4(14) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 35 ) . Biometrics-based data are additional data resulting from specific technical processing relating to physical, physiological or behavioural signals of a natural person, such as facial expressions, movements, pulse frequency, voice, key strikes or gait, which may or may not allow or confirm the unique identification of a natural person .
